New members include:
-- Richard Hyman of Port Chester, the new chairman
-- Bernard Thombs of Valhalla
-- Renee Toback of Yonkers
Additionally, new Department of Public Works Commissioner Hugh Greechan has been appointed an ex officio member. Latimer also reappointed two current members, Dwight Douglas of Peekskill and Holly Hasbrouck of Bedford. Three additional members remain in seats whose terms have not yet expired.
Latimer said: “This is the infusion of new blood the Board needs. I expect it will redouble its efforts to work with local land use agencies across the County. I've known Richard Hyman for over 40 years and he may be the first Planning Board Chair who is, by profession, a planner.”
This follows the re-booting of the Human Rights Commission, as Latimer continues his commitment to a fresh start in Westchester County.
The Westchester County Planning Board is authorized by the County Charter to formulate and recommend major physical planning and development policies, undertake capital program planning, make recommendations on the capital budget and review and comment on municipal planning and zoning actions.
The County Planning Board usually meets the first Tuesday of every month at 8 a.m. in the William N. Cassella Conference Room at the County Planning Department, located on 148 Martine Avenue in White Plains.
